Daniel was born in Devon, UK. He moved to New Zealand when he was nine, where he currently resides with his wife.
He holds a PhD in Chemistry – Physical and Materials Chemistry, to be precise – and once upon a time he could recite the entire periodic table from memory.
Daniel is also musically inclined, having picked up the guitar at the age of twelve. He occasionally shares his music online under the alias of Ostra. Apocryphal Pt. 3 is his most recent effort – though a warning in advance: it is of the extreme metal variety.
After finishing his studies, Daniel shifted his creative focus towards delving into the fantasy universe that had been building inside his head over the years; a result of extensive gaming, reading, and philosophical conversations. The most recent game, you might ask? Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Honorable mentions include Oblivion, Pillars of Eternity, Dishonored.
Daniel never envisioned himself an author, though when some of his favourite fantasy characters met unimaginable ends he set out to create his own universe and shape the stories of his own characters. He also maintains that he will be riding a skateboard well into his 90’s.
